TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I began my teaching career with substituting for elementary schools in my hometown while also receiving my masters in education. Shortly following graduation I was hired in the Special Education department as an Educational Assistant for grades pre-k thru 2nd. I have now been teaching third grade for three years and just this year began teaching fourth grade science and social studies.

MY TEACHING STYLE

My teaching style is an "empower the student" approach. I am a firm believer in students helping to teach students. Ninety percent of my lessons allow students time to get into groups and work with one another using accountable talk and teaching each other. Students have great minds we as teachers just have to help them direct their thinking and push it to higher levels.
