I spent a year working with freshmen and seniors in an ELA classroom at a public high school in Indiana. Since then I've been working in a public junior high school in Indiana. I've mainly taught 7th grade general ELA at my current school, but I've also had opportunities to teach advanced 7th and 8th graders creative writing and mythology elective courses.

I graduated Magna Cum Laude and attended Ball State's Honors College. I took part in a Poster Session at the 2009 NCTE National Conference in San Antonio. A former professor of mine and I presented a poster with ideas and research on Visual Poetry.
i have a Bachelor of Arts Degree for Teaching: English/Language Arts from Ball State University. I completed a thesis for the Ball State Honors College entitled "Hiding the Seams by Weaving in Culture: Language Arts Lesson Plans, Prompts, and Resources that Integrate Culture." I am licensed in Secondary Education: English/Language Arts in the state of Indiana. I try to attend workshops locally and keep up on educational readings when possible.
I've been using TPT for a little while now, but just started selling. I hope to have quite a few digital documents uploaded over the coming weeks. I may only have a few years of teaching under my belt, but I always prefer to make my own worksheets, tests, etc. when possible. Therefore I've already accumulated a fair share of original educational materials that students have really benefitted from.
