I am in my 13th year of teaching after spending many years in healthcare. In addition to teaching elementary children, I am also adjunct faculty to our local university and serve as a coach and mentor to teacher candidates who are expecting to student teach during the following semester. I am fortunate to teach with a talented group of teachers at my school which is part of the International Association of Laboratory Schools.
Kids who are engaged using multiple senses will have a more effective and better learning experience. I use Whole Brain Teaching strategies with a lot of technology in my classroom to get and keep kids involved, and they love it!
Nothing official...yet! :) However, I am honored to know and teach with so many wonderful educators. Our learning from eachother never stops!
Bachelor of Arts in English, Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education K -6, and a Masters of Education in Curriculum and Instruction.
I entered a teaching career after twenty years in healthcare. I had wanted to be a teacher since I was in second grade, and I am so fortunate to have been able to return to school to realize my dream. Making a difference in children's lives is my motivation!
