TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have previously taught 7th grade reading, as well as 9th-12th grade English. I currently teach English to a fabulous group of freshmen, juniors, and seniors. Two of my Senior courses are part of the College in the High School program with a local university. This provides our students with dual enrollment credit similar to that of a Running Start program.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Building relationships with my students through sharing my love for creativity is my biggest passion. I've learned more and more that relationships are the best foundation for running an inquisitive, productive, and supportive classroom. Above all else, I have learned the importance of reflection and affirmation of one's efforts. It is my greatest hope and biggest dream that my resources support other teachers and empower them to feel more confident in their classrooms.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I recently relocated to a small town in western Washington, near our state's capitol. I'm absolutely fascinated with true crime and you can find me with my nose in an Ann Rule book (if I'm not in my craft room).
