I have been elementary library teacher in New England for 6 years. I have taught grades K-5 and all my products have been used with my students. I have had a centers-based library program since 2011 and have presented on elementary library centers at AASL 2013, Simmons College GSLIS Spring 2014 Conference, and the 2015 MA School Library Association annual conference.
In addition to regular library classes and collaborative research projects between the library and classroom, my students have a centers-based library program. My library lessons enable students to be productive, collaborative members of a community, engaged readers, and successful information users. Through library centers, students are encouraged and supported as they become independent, self-directed learners.
