I have been teaching in Michigan for 8 years now, my how the time flies! I started in Kindergarten, where I really found my groove. After lay offs I started teaching Middle School reading intervention in 2 different inner city school districts. After reassignment again I started teaching Kindergarten to EL students and looped to first grade. I returned to Kindergarten and have spent the last 4 school years there!
My philosophy is that students should have the opportunity to develop academically, socially, emotionally and physically in the classroom. I try to provide as much as possible for my students, and teach in a very thematic way. I use small group guided math and reading. Teaching through various methods and incorporating different learning styles is very important to me as well. My students learn independence and academics!

I attended public school in Michigan. I attended the same school district from Kindergarten through 10th grade. At the beginning of my junior year my family relocated so my dad could take a better job. I am grateful that I had the chance to attend different schools because it gives me various perspectives. I attended Central Michigan University and received a Bachelor's in Elem Ed, master in Early Childhood with minors in math and reading.
