I was an elementary public school teacher for ten years prior to having my son in 2015. I became a work at home mom at that point. Due to the state of the world at the moment, I am now enjoying a wonderful journey of being a homeschooling mom. I did a variety of things during my ten years in education. I taught in a 2nd and 3rd grade multiage class for one year. I ran our school computer lab and taught technology lessons to all students in K-5 for two years. The rest of the time I was in first grade. First grade stole my heart for sure! <3
I am not the type of teacher who makes students sit in silent rows while working in a workbook all day. I like fun, color, music, movement, and hands-on activities that make school special and exciting for my students. I was never in it for money or to get my "summers off." I was in it for the kids (MY kids!) and making sure that I did whatever I could to help them reach their fullest potential.
