I spent several years as an elementary school reading intervention specialist working with students in grades K-6, seeking to equip them with integrated skills on their journey to become better readers and writers. I stepped out of the classroom to take on a role providing residential care to kids in crisis at a non-profit. One aspect of my job there was creating educational experiences and environments to support toddlers, preschoolers, and school-aged kids in reaching academic goals while also meeting their emotional needs. Now I'm a homeschool foster mom in Philadelphia, taking on life one day at a time with my crew. Thanks for stopping by my TPT store.
I believe every student- every child- is creative. Even more, I believe each child has the ability to communicate. The art of communicating through spoken and written language is a complex and beautiful thing. I believe that education should send us on a pursuit of knowing God, the world He created, and the people He created. Learning ought to be fun, innovative, collaborative, challenging and engaging.
Yet to be added
I grew up attending public schools in the suburbs of Philadelphia. After graduating from high school, I attended a private university where I studied to become an elementary school teacher.
When I'm not in the classroom I enjoy spending time with my husband and family. We enjoy traveling and trying new restaurants. You'll find us listening to bands like Mumford and Sons and watching TV shows like How I Met Your Mother. I'd love for you to find me over on Pinterest: Visit Mrs. McPherson | TPT's profile on Pinterest.
