I have been teaching for 23 years. I am certified to teach English grades 5-12, as well as ENL/ESL. I currently teach high school English for general education, ENL, and inclusion classes. Outside of my full-time career, I also provide private tutoring for ELA Regents prep, SAT and ACT prep, college essays, note taking, and reading and writing strategies. I have also spent time training ENL teachers for meeting the needs of English Language Learners in preparing them for the Common Core English Regents exam.
I am an organized person who enjoys creating lessons to meet the needs of multi-sensory learners. My experience working with English Language Learners, special education students, adult learners, and general education students has helped me to grow as a teacher who can meet the needs of all learners.
The honors I most enjoy are the notes and emails that students send to me years after they graduate. They tell me I made a difference in their lives. Many tell me that I'm the one they remember most, and to me there is no greater honor! Additionally: I graduated with Honors from my universities and I have been recognized as Teacher of the Month a few times in my high school.
