13 years of experience as both a classroom teacher and one-on-one tutor. Grades K-5. Currently teaching Kindergarten and loving it!
I believe in providing students with hands-on, engaging and - most of all - AUTHENTIC learning experiences. I am not one to push worksheets in front of my students, so you won't find that kind of busy work in my store. All forms I create and use with my students are designed to guide them through practical application of skills or strategies. I believe that utilizing trade books is best practice in reading instruction. Whether studying a new picture book during a close-read whole group lesson, rereading familiar trade books for fluency practice, or analyzing short passages of non-fiction trade books in small reading groups, I find that trade books are the best resources to use for authentic reading instruction.
