I taught 6th grade for 2 years. I just completed my 12th year teaching 1st grade. First grade is definitely where my heart lies.
I want my students to have a life-long love of learning. I try to accomplish this by making learning fun, and I feel like I am growing as a teacher every year. Of course, there is always so much more to learn.
Well, my daughter told me I was the best mom in the world, but I'm not sure that counts.
I have my Bachelor of Science in Child Development and Learning with teaching licensure from Maryville College and I just completed the requirements for my Masters in Elementary Education from East Tennessee State University.
I have been married to my wonderful husband, Tommy, for 14 years. We are the proud parents of a daughter, Bethany. We are also the 'parents' of: 2 dogs-Pee Wee and Buddy, 3 cats- Peanut, Pepper, and Smoky, and a guinea pig, Joey.
