My experience in teaching began in 2003 in a SEN college aiding students over the age of 16, of all academic abilities. My PGSE followed before I began working at the school I am now, which is also SEN. I have been a teaching assistant, teacher and more recently taken on more leadership tasks. Working with students of all ages and abilities, including gifted and talented children. I also work as a tutor parallel to working at a school and have done this for 5 years, teaching from KS1/ Kindergarten level, and up to GCSE/ 10th-11th level.
My teaching style personally I would describe as 'humanistic'. As I aim to make all my lessons and as many of my resources centred around the students I work with and children I aim to inspire. As learning is not the end goal, life is. I also focus on making my work highly accessible to all by integrating all learning styles as often as I can into my lessons and resources.
I am awarded each day by the smiles of the students I teach and the lives I change. That is all I will ever need for each and every ounce of effort to be worthwhile.
GCSE's, B-Tec National Diploma in Electrical and Electronic Engineering, BHons Degree in Engineering. Followed by a PGCE in post-compulsory education, QTS in secondary mathematics. All throughout school and while working at a special educational needs school, which I have been based at for 12 years now.
