I create a positive, high-energy classroom that makes learning exciting for my students. I operate under the understanding that school and learning ARE enjoyable. I use a lot of total participation techniques to increase student engagement during class, and I very much enjoy using close reading strategies. I like taking risks, trying new things, and amplifying student voice. I treat English class like a liberal arts class, always focusing our conversations in logic and the text.
