I am a literacy curriculum specialist for grades K-5, with a Masters in Reading and ESL Certification, and have taught grades 2-8. My classrooms have been filled with gifted, special ed, ESOL, Title I, and everyone in between. I love working with the younger grades and love working with teachers! One of the best things about teaching is that you can always change, grow, tryout new things, and start over each year smarter and better! Teachers have one of the hardest and best jobs in the world.
My passion is to make learning as relevant and engaging as possible, and I do that by integrating curriculum and designing lessons that bridge the gaps or challenge them to move forward. I believe all students flourish with small-group instruction, projects and games, and high standards. Most of my experience has been with struggling students, so I love using data and co-teachers to help design differentiated lessons that really meet the needs of my students! My style is definitely engaging workshops that integrate content with reading and math.
