TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently into my second year of ESL teaching at elementary level. I also have some experience teaching ESL to adults. I am truly invested in the teaching profession, after my time in Korea teaching ESL I will be attending a New Zealand university where I will train for my teacher's certificate - as a qualified secondary English teacher. After I plan to teach in New Zealand and seek more international opportunities.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love teaching English as it is a subject I thoroughly enjoy. I believe that every student should have the opportunity to contribute and I also feel that you are never too old to learn. I like to be creative and off-textbook as much as possible.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I studied to be an English Specialist. I graduated with my honors Bachelor of Arts from the University of Toronto, in Canada. I have also gained a TEFL certificate. I am also a published poet. My work can be found in two literary journals. Snorkel issue 19 and Poetry New Zealand, issue 49. I hope to publish more poetry and hopefully short stories also. I also aim to one day create my own ESL textbook.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

I graduated high school from the International School of Brunei with an international baccalaureate. After I attended the university of Toronto where I got my honors BA as an English Specialist. I would like to get my teaching certificate from NZ and later study for a masters specializing in ESL teaching.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a Kiwi/Canadian. I was born in NZ however I am also a Canadian citizen via my father. This is why I have lived and studied in both nations. I have also lived in five other countries (7 total), these include Singapore, Japan, Brunei, Portugal and now, South Korea. I enjoy working and living abroad and hope to keep traveling and teaching for a very long time.
