I have taught Pre-K, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Second Grade. This is my 8th year teaching and my 4th year in First Grade.
I love to do things hands-on with my kiddos. I think they have more fun and get more out of my lessons that way!
I consider a single student to be the biggest honor of my teaching career. I had the privilege of working with a student who had a severe behavior disorder. He challenged me every day of school that year and we grew a lot together. He came up to me everyday for the following two years, smiled and gave me a big hug. Those hugs and smiles made all of the hurdles we jumped together well worth it! He even worked towards earning time to come read to my class as part of his behavior management plan with his other teachers. Seeing such a drastic change in that one student has been my best honor as a teacher.
I have my BA in Early Childhood Education from Florida Gulf Coast University and my MS in Educational Leadership and Administration from Capella University.
When I am not at school I am spending time with my husband and three beautiful children. Our favorite place to be is outdoors!
