I have been working in a school environment since 2004, first as a Language Monitor, then as an Educational Assistant, and finally as a teacher. I was a substitute teacher for almost 6 years before I finally landed a permanent position. Most of my experience has been within the middle grades, where I feel most comfortable.
I am a very structured, organized teacher. I adapt easily for my special needs students. I am also a compassionate teacher who loves her students and I make myself available for them whenever they need me. It's not uncommon for me to miss a break, lunch or stay late after school to chat with a student or a parent. I love for my students to discover through play and prefer to let them discover things on their own whenever possible. I believe kids learn better that way. I also like for things to move in my classroom. We take frequent active brain breaks and I create a lot of lessons that allow my students to move around a lot.

My entire education, from Kindergarten to Post-Secondary, was done in French, my first language, in a small town in Northern Ontario.
I married the love of my life in 2006, and we have two beautiful, talented and creative kids. Gabby is a 17 year old with a passion for dance and Ty is a 10 year old with an absolutely amazing imagination. We live in the country, with our two dogs, Chopper and Lexi, and one cat, Willow. I teach grades 4 and 5, in a French school, where everything (except an English class) is taught in French. I have a long commute to my school, but I like the down time before and after school. I'm that weird woman singing and dancing behind the wheel of her car as if no one is watching! In my car, I'm a rockstar!
