I have been teaching special education for 12 years in a variety of settings and grade levels. I have worked with students with disabilities including learning disabilities, behavioral difficulties, Autism, speech & language impairments, vision impairments, ADD and ADHD. I also worked in Child Care for 4 years while in college. I am my building technology coach and am always looking for ways to incorporate technology into my instruction and sharing that with my colleagues.
I love teaching and am excited to have found a resource I can use for new ideas and share my own. I have many teaching styles and couldn't really pick one. I teach in a self-contained special class with a full time speech therapist. We use as much whole group instruction as possible along with guided reading and guided math groups. We mainstream students for a variety of subjects and work with classroom teachers at all different grade levels.
Osceola County first year teacher of the year (2001)
I received my National Board Certification in 2009 as an Exceptional Needs Specialist.
I am a relatively new mom and LOVE spending time with my daughter. Watching her grow and develop is so exciting. She has enhanced my desire to do best by my students, helping them to be successful despite their academic, social and personal struggles.
