I taught for 3 years in a Special Developmental School for children with moderate to severe intellectual and physical disabilities. I am now a grade 3 teacher in mainstream primary school.
My former school catered to students with IQ's below 50. I planned my lessons to be diversified for a range of abilities. A typical day in my classroom involved the development of language through play and music, combined with vibrant math activities. I am now teaching grade 3 and work with an amazing team at a collaborative level. Our lessons revolve around student learning through group work and small group teacher-led activities.
