I am a New Mexico native born in the mountainous desert of the Southwest. I Graduated from New Mexico State University in 2010 with a Bachelors Degree in Special Education and finished my Masters program in 2013 majoring in Curriculum and Instruction. I had the opportunity to teach a year in the rural area of Anthony New Mexico and have since followed my career to New York. I currently work in Monroe New York as a Special Education English teacher. Teaching has allowed me so many opportunities that I am so very grateful for. I have met some special people along my journey and have taught some pretty amazing kids. I look forward to the continuous laughter, friendships, simple joys and triumphs that come with this precious career.
As a Special Education Teacher I like to find accessible text and information for my students. When students can access the text, they are more willing and excited to read. I teach using collaborative groups and small learning groups to support students.
