I started as a high school teacher and moved to elementary for a love of cross-curricular learning and relationship building in a homeroom. I have taught in two countries, the majority of my career has been middle school, special education classes, and a focus in math. I have a Masters of Education and additional qualifications in math, special education, English language learning, and middle school.
I believe in hands on, real-life problem solving with a focus on critical thinking. I enjoy open ended activities that allow for differentiation.
Bachelor in Arts and Education (English and History, intermediate, senior) Masters of Education (equity and math focus) Additional Qualifications (math, English language learning, special education, junior education)
I was that student that hated school. I was smart enough to do well teachers always told me but I didn't apply myself. Fast-forward to adulthood, I now realize the importance of engaging the learning, inspiring them, and using their strengths as a starting point for their success. I became a teacher to be teacher I wish I had had.
