21 years of teaching experience in Early Childhood and Elementary Education including classroom teaching in primary grades as well as the intermediate grades. For 8 years, I was a Literacy Coach in my district. Currently, I am working as a Reading Teacher spanning grades K-5. I have a background in Reading Recovery and Wilson Reading as well.
My teaching style includes motivating and engaging books, hands-on activities, and more. I work with small groups of students in grades-5 for reading support in the areas of phonemic awareness, phonics, comprehension, fluency, and ELA test preparation. Currently, we are implementing Fundations ( a Wilson Reading Program for the classroom). Many of my Fundations items are my best sellers----take a peek !
