TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am currently in my 9th year of teaching. My first four years were spent teaching in Maine. There I taught fifth grade and third grade. After teaching in Maine I moved to Alaska. I am currently teaching sixth grade.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I enjoy using cooperative learning groups and activities to allow students to share thoughts and ideas with classmates. I encourage discussion and debate in the classroom. Additionally, I use the workshop model in both my reading and writing instruction. I love using literature circles with my students as I find the discussions that we have are absolutely incredible.
