TEACHING EXPERIENCE

As a 5th year English teacher, in a highly diverse large public high school, I have devoted a large amount of my time crafting quality lesson plans for my students. I have taught every grade, 9-12, over the course of my tenure in the NYC Department of Education. My greatest success has come with my consistent 85% pass rate among 9th grade students on the NYS English Regents; a test that is usually taken by 11th grade students. Additionally I am a proponent of integrating Common Core level work side by side with a strong literature rich program of study.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a proponent of differentiated instruction and thus my lessons have various entry points. Additionally my lessons focus on building core skills such as annotations and higher level questions.
