I taught for one year in a junior high math classroom. From there I moved on to teach 6th grade. I have now been teaching the sixth grade for 13 years and I love it!
I teach in a back-to-basics charter school which stresses student and parent accountability. Truly it is a dream school. We are given a lot of autonomy to run our classrooms as we see fit given that we mind the back-to-basics philosophy. I see my teaching style as a facilitatorof learning. I want the students to own their learning by interacting with the lessons.
I have been given the honor of being recognized by my school as a "Star Teacher" twice for exceling in Leadership.
I attended Minnesota State University of Moorhead where I received my Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. I graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of the MSUM Honor Society. I am currently pursuing a Master's in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University.
