TEACHING EXPERIENCE

After teaching for 13 years, ten of those as a middle school language arts teacher, I have a wealth of experience working with students, staff, parents, student teachers, and the community of people that influence young peoples’ lives.

MY TEACHING STYLE

When I tell most people that I teach 8th grade, I see that familiar wrinkled forehead questioning, why? There are many answers to that question, but at the forefront you will find a true passion for working with young people and making a connection with students. Facilitation of the learning experience through a creative balance of the newest trends and the best conventional ideas is evident in my classroom. A nurturing environment, crucial in the life of a middle school student, with differentiation and problem-based learning is paramount as well. Today, educators are faced with many challenges, but one thing remains constant and that is our ability to positively impact students.
