I am a special education teacher for students with moderate to severe disabilities. I teach a kindergarten-second grade combination Special Day Class and often create and modify materials to help meet my students unique and various education needs.
I love a simple, hands-on approach to learning since often that is the key to helping students learn best. I am constantly searching for materials that will provide my students with a simple, free from visual clutter option for learning. This need has inspired my creation of activities to help meet my students needs and promote a level of independence as they learn how to complete the activities containing a familiar format.
Last year I was honored to be nominated and receive the "I Make a Difference" Award for making a difference in the life of a student with special needs. Having a supportive parent community makes such a beautiful difference.
I have a Masters of Special Education as well as a Clear Credential as a Moderate to Severe Education Specialist. It has been my privilege to act as a Master teacher to support new teachers as well.
I am a proud wife and mother of two beautiful girls.
