I have twelve years of experience with this being my thirteenth. I am now in the seventh year of my position as (K-5) math facilitator. Previous to being a math facilitator, I worked as a third grade teacher for 6 years. Three of my 6 years as a third grade teacher, I departmentalized teaching mainly math, science, and social studies.
When teaching I listen to students' misconceptions, and build my lessons around struggles that students may have had. I aspire to reach all learners' needs by providing differentiated instruction. I also seek to provide challenging instruction and tasks which focus on having students explain their thinking. My products come from struggles that I notice students having or challenges that I think students need to further their understanding of math concepts.
