I am a special education teacher in Illinois. I've only been a licensed teacher six years, but I've always been a teacher at heart! From making my younger sister go to my made up summer school to now having my own special education preschool room, my passion has always been education! My first two years I taught in a resource room for students with learning disabilities and emotional/behavioral disabilities. After that, I was an intellectual disabilities classroom teacher where I had my own classroom with 7 students who had autism, Down Syndrome, or other intellectual disabilities. Last year, my husband and I moved from Wisconsin to be closer to our families back in Illinois. Once there, I got a job as a self-contained kindergarten/1st-grade learning disabilities teacher. Due to some program changes, this year I switched roles yet again and am beginning my newest adventure as an early childhood special education teacher!
