TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've been teaching for 12 years and have taught every subject but Math to 6th-12th graders. I know this sounds funny for a history teacher, but I spent my first 5 1/2 years teaching in a private school where I had the opportunity to cover lots of subjects. I think this has made me much more collaborative and cross-curricular minded.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I believe that Project Based Learning (PBL) is the best way for kids to learn. I love watching them create and being a coach and a guide as they discover and uncover the mysteries of history and literature!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher award: "Bringing History to Life" 2010 Teacher award: "The Planner" 2011

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

B.A. in History, CLAD Certification, Single Subject Credential in Social Science (say that five times fast)! ; )

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I have two boys who keep me laughing and loving and super busy and 130 students who inspire me and challenge me daily. Teaching and mommyhood give me a full life that I love!
