MY TEACHING STYLE

I have made it my mission to develop innovative curricula and programs that foster success for my students in career and life. The lessons, activities and various teaching resources that I have created showcase my expertise in differentiating instruction and accommodating all types of learners. I am a highly adaptable and versatile educator. I believe that structure and consistency are the most important aspects to educating, but only if combined with compassion, understanding, creativity, and a willingness to be flexible when needed. My experiences taught me to take each student’s unique goals, needs and interests into account for my teaching strategies. My experience has also enabled me to create effective lesson plans and activities to accommodate the vast array of individuals within my classroom. Facilitating for all styles of learners is where my talents shine. Over 17 years I have developed a variety of multi-sensory lesson plans to meet the needs of auditory, visual, tactile and kinesthetic learners. I also have incorporated various forms of technology, centers, manipulatives, group activities, materials and thematic units for teaching new concepts. I make certain that each child receives individualized praise and encouragement to ensure that he remains motivated and optimistic about his success.
