TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I am in my fourth year of teaching and am loving every minute! I have taught all grades 7-12 English/English Language Arts, and even had a brief experience teaching grades 4-5 ELA, Science, and Social Studies. My heart is truly in high school, and I am currently a ninth grade teacher!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I love to make students utilize their critical thought to analyze the "gray areas" in literature. I always tell my students I will tell them where to look, but not what to see. I perform a lot of direct instruction, hands-on activities, and analysis. Holocaust Literature, Gothic Literature, and Shakespeare are my specialties, but I truly enjoy making every facet of English FUN and/or hands-on for my students.
