MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Originally hailing from the San Francisco Bay Area, I survived two Polar Vortexes (and a few milder Midwest winters) at The University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I earned two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts in Radio/TV/Film and a Journalism Bachelor of Arts with a focus on strategic communication (advertising and public relations) through the School of Journalism and Mass Communication. Upon graduation, I moved to Chicago to start my career at an advertising agency. A year later, I had a not-even-quarter-life crisis and decided to follow in my cousin, aunt, grandmother, and great grandmother's footsteps to pursue my childhood dream of becoming a teacher. Needless to say, no one was surprised by this career change...I was granted the senior superlative of "Teacher's Pet" after all. Soon after, I moved back to the Bay Area and earned my Multiple Subject (Elementary) Teaching Credential at Dominican University of California.

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

From a young age, I was a natural communicator - I could talk at six months and was speaking full sentences before the age of one. As I grew, so did my love and natural affinity for communication in all forms. I performed regularly in music, dance, and theater, taking my communication skills to a wider audience. In college, I served as the Executive Director of UW-Madison’s "Humorology," a philanthropic musical production in which teams of students pair up to write, direct and perform 20-minute, comedic musicals for a children's charitable organization. In my spare time, you can find me quoting Kristen Wiig, hash-tagging “On Wisconsin,” or correcting your grammar.
