TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have taught both middle and high school ELA for ten years in the inner cities of Philadelphia and New York (both in Harlem and the South Bronx). When you can find a classroom resource that meets the needs of your students, it makes crafting your lesson that much easier.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I utilize the workshop model, eventually making it so that my students are leading classes and discussions on their own. I do A LOT of modeling in the beginning of the year, so by November, my classes are rarely needing reminders on how to complete activities and/or procedures in the classroom.
