I came to teaching as a second career after working in HR and systems development. I teach Spanish at a public urban high school in the Midwest, and even though it's crazy at times, I truly love my job.
I work hard to build strong relationships with my students. We have a lot of fun in my classroom, but we ALL also work very hard.
Sigma Delta Pi - National Collegiate Hispanic Honors Society: I was my university chapter's founding president.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from the John Wesley Honors College at Indiana Wesleyan University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Intercultural Studies. In 2013, I finished my Master of Arts in Teaching at Marian University.
I live with my husband, who is originally from Honduras, and daughter (and sometimes additional extended family) in the same neighborhood as many of my students. We speak Spanish as our home language, love soccer, and like to spend our free time surrounded by friends, family, and good food.
