I taught 3rd-5th grade art in Texas. I incorporated hundreds of works of art and artists focusing on art lessons that went beyond art creation, but also included creative ways to look at works of art and make meaningful connections with other subject areas.
I use an interdisciplinary approach for 21st century learners. I think of it as building creative challenges that train and inspire students to be curious life-long learners.
I have been a Teacher of the Year recipient and was a District Finalist in 2008-2009.
BFA and MFA in Art Education from the University of Texas at Austin. Hook em' Horns!
