An international artist and teacher, Kristine Dizon has performed in Europe, Asia, and the Americas. A passionate educator, she has taught masterclasses in Armenia, Cyprus, Thailand, Perú, and Poland. Kristine served as Visiting Professor at the University of Saint Joseph - Faculty of Creative Industries in Macau, China in 2018. Kristine has been a part of several socio-cultural and educational projects that include the Philharmonie de Paris-Project DEMOS, Conservatoire de Montargis (Orchestre á l'école), and the Minnesota Project Opera. Kristine is a recipient of the Fundação para Ciência e Tecnologia grant for the International Doctoral Program of Cultural Studies at the Universidade de Católica Portuguesa in Lisbon for her research “Remaking: The Reshaping of Sound in Portuguese Musical Comedies”. She was awarded the J. William Fulbright/Camões Institute Scholarship to study clarinet and orchestral conducting at the Escola Superior de Música Artes e Espectáculo. She received her prix de perfectionnement from the Conservatoire de Versailles and diploma in orchestral conducting at École Normale de Musique - Alfred Cortot. Ms. Dizon received a Master’s degree in Clarinet Performance at Southern Illinois University-Carbondale and degrees in European History and Music at the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities. A polyglot by nature, Kristine speaks seven languages: Spanish, French, Portuguese, English, German, Tagalog, and Chinese. Her teachings focus on a complete understanding of language through reading, writing, grammar, and speaking. Recent student accomplishments include winning the 'Premio de Plato' on Examen Naciónal de Español, high placement in both music and language courses, merits and distinction achievements in the ABRSM music theory exams, and recent acceptance to the San José Youth Symphony and Minnesota Youth Symphonies. Her students also are gaining recognition in international music competitions.
