TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been a music educator in the Columbus, Ohio area for 11 years. I have experience teaching all grade levels, but for the past 4 years I have exclusively taught middle and high school special needs students.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Because every student I teach has an IEP, my classroom sizes are small and my teaching style is very individualized as a result. I am a firm believer that kids learn by doing, and therefore mainly utilize direct instruction when introducing a new concept.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Teacher of the Year, Imagine Academy of Columbus, 2010 Regional Teacher of the Year, Imagine Schools Central Ohio Region, 2010

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Bachelor's of Music Education, Otterbein College (University), 2007 Reading Endorsement, Otterbein University, 2013

ADDITIONAL BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION

I am a wife, mother, teacher, singer, flutist, crossworder, cook, reader, watcher of (good) TV, Golden Girls quoter, lover of BBQ, and pickle hater.
