I have taught middle school general music for 10 years now. I am lucky enough to have stayed in the same place for the duration of my teaching career allowing me to build a program from the ground up. My teaching responsibilities include, general music, chorus and beginning band. I love the rewards of my job and am excited to share some of the tricks I have picked up along my journey in education!
My teaching style reflects my belief that every child can learn to become musically literate and it is the job of music educators to give them the tools to do that. Having this basic foundation will allow students to be successful in the variety of different directions that music might lead them in their futures.
I have had the honor of presenting at many state and regional conferences. I serve as a teacher leader within my school and also with the Maine Arts Leadership Initiative.
I hold degrees in Music Education, Choral Conducting from the University of Maine and a Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies in Curriculum and Instruction Design from the University of New England.
There are very few things that get me more excited than talking about and working towards meaningful delivery of curriculum through effective teaching! I love having this venue to be able to share my work with you!
