As a senior in high school, I began teaching guitar at Morrell Music in Bristol Tennessee, and Matt Smith’s music in Abingdon Virginia, later I went on to teach in Atlanta (Marietta) where I finished my teaching degree and certification. While in Atlanta I worked at a private school in technology and I also taught video editing and guitar. I also taught an after school group music program. After I finished college I moved back to Bristol where I started my first job teaching general music, in Russell County Virginia. Then I taught choir in Washington County Virginia, I had a great year, having 6 students make all-state, 16 of 16 made all-district choir (2 alternates), our middle school and high school both had the highest alto score in the district. Our high school alto also made honors choir (the best high school senior singers in the state). I then taught at Mountain City Elementary. I am honored to be back in the city where I was born, and to have this wonderful opportunity to teach music at Fairmount Elementary. Go Red Hawks!

All-State Choir / Most Talented / Guitar National Championship 3rd round
I went to High Point Elementary, then to John S. Battle high school where I received first chair county, 2nd chair region, and all-state choir honors. I was voted most talented senior. I began learning guitar at age 16. I have lived in Bristol, Los Angeles, Nashville, and Atlanta pursuing music education while gaining experience as a guitar instructor, working musician, and studio musician. While in Atlanta, I got my bachelor’s degree in music education at Kennesaw State University, with Jazz guitar as my main instrument of study. I am working towards a master’s degree in music education.
I love the great outdoors... writing/recording/performing music.
