Kate Agioritis is an Australian composer, arranger, music educator and instrumentalist. She started out writing music for use with her own students and performing groups. Today, Kate has an extensive catalogue including various solo, chamber, orchestral and band works, with her small ensemble arrangements proving popular with student and adult performers worldwide. She founded Musika Publishing Australia in 2011 and loves hearing from performers of her music from around the world.
It is Kate's firm believe repertoire selection is an important factor in delivering dynamic and effective Instrumental Music education. Providing students with repertoire that is accessible whilst suitably challenging, and that they enjoy playing is key to success. It is this belief that motivated Kate to begin tailoring music to her students' needs and abilities.
Kate was recently admitted as a professional member of the Music Arrangers' Guild of Australia as both an arranger and music engraver.
Kate holds a Master of Music Education, a Graduate Diploma in Music Technology, as well as an Associate of Music Australia (AMusA) in Saxophone performance. She has most recently studied arranging through Berklee College of Music and is a professional member of the Music Arrangers Guild of Australia (MAGA)
Kate performs in Saxophone Quartet 'Bird' and is founding member of the 'Bluewater Big Band'. She also enjoys playing in pit orchestras for various musical productions.
