TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have been teaching for eighteen years in the same school district and I have taught honors classes for the last thirteen years.

MY TEACHING STYLE

With my high level honors students I use the Socratic method, as well as project based learning. I tend to integrate quite a bit of technology into my lessons. I like to make my handouts fun by adding some elements of humor. It tends to wake them up!

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

I was the recipient of an IU award for integrating curriculum with service for an organization I started with my students. My students wrote their own fairy tales, bound them and read them to our district elementary students, as well as made a donation of the books to the elementary libraries.
