I have several years teaching children and youth in a variety of different schools. My focus over the years was special education and physical education. Following my Master's program I began to specialize in working with children with ADHD. I currently consult with a variety of families and educators regarding long term affects and implications of having ADHD. I am advocating to empower youth through education and support. This begins with teaching teachers about ADHD so teachers can teach children about their ADHD.
I work one to one with students, sharing lived experiences to give them insight into living with ADHD. The process involves collaborative reflections to empower children with ADHD to have a voice in order to advocate for their academic success. This begins with giving childrn with ADHD what they need to be successful. On going problem solving creates opportunities for accommodations, recommendations and strategies for classroom success.
