TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I've taught in Tampa, FL which is a part of the Hillsborough County School System for over 10 years. I've taught every grade level from 1st -5th. Currently, I am thoroughly enjoying my new career as a Reading Coach!

MY TEACHING STYLE

I am a very enthusiastic and artistic teacher and coach. I use my creative abilities to blend multiple subject areas together, fostering a integrated approach to literacy and learning. Moreover, I believe students learn at a higher level when engaged in active participation activities and tasks- many of my lessons and co-teach models with teachers center around students "creating" something, building models or designing posters, advertisements or other real-world examples to show what they've learned. Throughout my graduate studies and action research projects at the University of South Florida, I investigated and spoke on the importance of Visual Literacy. Students who are provided with visuals, models and colored images can learn at a higher level.
