TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I currently teach 3rd/4th grade at a Chicago Public School. I have experience teaching 1st- 8th grade. I have taught split-level classes. Also, I taught Title 1 where I pulled out 1st through 8th graders out for small support groups.

MY TEACHING STYLE

I use hands-on learning to engage my student's in all learning.

MY OWN EDUCATIONAL HISTORY

Education has been a very important aspect of my life. I have had many role models to help me realize this. I had a second grade teacher that went above and beyond to make her students have a love for education. We were always doing fun projects, and she had the respect of her students. I also had a high school teacher that respected each individual student for who they were and showed them they had potential in life. He is not just my role model but also a role model to many of my classmates. My main role model is my mom. She is a second grade teacher and the reason why I am pursuing the education career. I would go with my mom to school whenever I had the day off. I loved watching her teach. I saw, even at a young age, that my mom made a difference in her student’s lives. My mom truly cared about each of her students and definitely made sure they knew this. A former student of my mom told her that he wouldn’t be the person that he was today because my mom was the only person that believed in him. I want to make a difference just like my mom!
