This is my eighth year as a special education teacher! My first 2 years of teaching were spent in a self contained autism classroom in North Carolina. I am now teaching grades K/1 in a moderate to intensive needs classroom in Ohio. I work with some smart little kiddos with a wide range of abilities!
My teaching style is very individually based. We have a wide range of abilities and each kiddo has their own goals, ways they learn, etc! Each child has their own "curriculum" based on their IEP goals and their grade level content standards. We also work on social skills, life skills, independence, hygiene, communication skills, real-world life skills, and fine motor/gross motor skills throughout the school day. Each student has their own "office" in which they do most of their work during the day!

I received my Bachelors in Education from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio. My degree is as an Intervention Specialist for grades K-12 with moderate to intensive needs.
