I graduated with my undergraduate and master's degree from the University of Kansas. I currently am teaching my second year. I am a special education teacher (K-3). June 2014 I attended the ISTE conference in Atlanta and have presented in my district on classflow, blendspace, and augmented reality.
It is within my beliefs as a teacher and a special educator to help best support my students in the classroom and out in the community. In teaching students with various abilities and disabilities I want to help create a positive learning environment to set them up for success as learners, teachers, leaders, and community members. I believe that all students should be given a fair and just education that harnesses their passion and interests, students should be able to display their knowledge through various means of representation. I also believe that students need to be guided to become digital citizens through use of technology in the classroom to help them connect with their community and the world.
