TEACHING EXPERIENCE

Once upon a time, I was a public school teacher. I taught 2nd grade for 2 years and 3rd grade for 3 years in Orange County, Florida. I also did private tutoring after school (all grade levels) at A+ Tutoring in Winter Park, FL. In the summer of 2013, my husband and I moved to Austin, TX where I began tutoring while looking for a teaching job for the coming fall. As it turns out, by the time August rolled around, I had a full tutoring clientele and was LOVING IT! I've made private tutoring my primary business and have already had the pleasure of helping hundreds of students, ages 5 to 55!

MY TEACHING STYLE

Hmmm...I find connecting the concrete to abstract really helps my students learn best. I teach with lots of modeling, manipulatives and examples, examples, EXAMPLES! Oh, and GAMES! I love games!!!!

I'm so in love with what I do! Since starting my own tutoring business, I've been working hard to branch out and find other ways to help students out there. I HATE standardized tests. Seriously. I really hate them. I'm working hard to get back to helping students enjoy learning.
