TEACHING EXPERIENCE

I have over 40 years experience in the educational field. I began my career using the Montessori Method and have been developing games, activities and projects from the start. While Montessori is a very easy logical process for children to understand, they also want freedom to explore. I believe we can provide children with that freedom by expanding the Montessori Method to include more opened ended experiments and choices.

MY TEACHING STYLE

Child centered and directed. The role of the teacher is to be the advocate of play. The teacher is a guide into discovery of the child's world, allowing the child to understand the reason and the purpose of the world around him.

HONORS/AWARDS/SHINING TEACHER MOMENT

Owner of the first Ohio preschool "Natural Habitat Outdoor Play Yard" certified with Dimensions of the Arbor Day Foundation. Certified "Wild School Site" through the Ohio Division of Wildlife. A certified "Natural Habitat for Native Plants and Animals" with the National Wildlife federation.
