I've spent most of my adult life working in some aspect of education. Behind the scenes, I've scored standardized tests and worked in the financial-aid office of a technical school. I've also done volunteer work teaching English to advanced ESL adults. In the classroom, I'm a veteran substitute teacher in the local elementary schools. Most of my assignments are requests from bilingual teachers.
I love to use my personal experiences when working with students, whether that's sharing anecdotes about my time scoring standardized tests or bringing in Chupa Chups during Hispanic Heritage month.

My bachelor's degree is in secondary education, with Spanish and English as teaching fields. Nevertheless, the time I've spent substituting in elementary schools has taught me a great deal about the importance of teaching children the basics early.
I'm a loving cat parent who enjoys cooking, writing and solving mystery riddles, and classic game shows (especially Press Your Luck).
